Choose the right field type for the data you're collecting.
Available Types
Text
A single line of text.
Use for: Short answers like names, codes, references.
Settings:
- Placeholder text
- Maximum length
Textarea
Multiple lines of text.
Use for: Longer notes, descriptions, special instructions.
Settings:
- Placeholder text
- Rows (height)
Number
Numeric values only.
Use for: Quantities, measurements, counts.
Settings:
- Minimum value
- Maximum value
- Decimal places
Dropdown
Select one option from a list.
Use for: Categories, statuses, types with fixed options.
Settings:

- Allow "Other" option
Multi-Select
Select multiple options from a list.
Use for: Tags, multiple categories, features included.

Date
Date picker.
Use for: Due dates, start dates, milestones.

- Allow past dates
- Allow future dates
Checkbox
Yes/no toggle.
Use for: Boolean options — has/doesn't have, is/isn't.

- Default state (checked/unchecked)
Currency
Money amounts.
Use for: Budgets, deposits, costs.

- Decimal places
URL
Web addresses.
Use for: Links to external documents, websites, portals.

Email addresses (validated format).
Use for: Secondary contacts, specific project contacts.
Phone
Phone numbers.
