Custom Fields
Create and manage custom fields
Add fields to capture information specific to your business.
Creating a Custom Field
- Go to Settings → Custom Fields
- Select where to add the field:
- Customers
- Jobs
- Quotes
- Products
- Click Add Field
- Configure the field:
- Name — What you'll call it
- Type — Text, number, dropdown, etc.
- Required — Must be filled in
- Default value — Pre-filled value
- Click Save
Field Placement
Custom fields appear:
- On the relevant record (customer, job, etc.)
- In the details panel
- In forms when creating or editing
Reordering Fields
Drag and drop to reorder:
- Go to Settings → Custom Fields
- Select the record type
- Drag fields up or down
- Order is saved automatically
Editing a Field
- Go to Settings → Custom Fields
- Click on the field
- Make changes
- Click Save
Changing a field type may affect existing data. Text can become dropdown, but dropdown options need to match existing values.
Deleting a Field
- Go to Settings → Custom Fields
- Click on the field
- Click Delete
- Confirm
Deleting a field removes all data stored in that field. This cannot be undone.
Using Custom Fields
Once created, custom fields appear when:
- Creating a new record
- Editing an existing record
- Filtering and searching
- Exporting data

Cabinet Makers:
- Material preference (dropdown)
- Colour code (text)
- Handle style (dropdown)
Plumbers:
- Property type (dropdown)
- Hot water system type (dropdown)
- Meter location (text)
Builders:
- Council permit number (text)
- Site supervisor (text)
- Stage (dropdown)
